BISHOP NEWS | LOCAL REPORTING · 2026
Bishop Airport’s official 2026 schedule brought a seasonal increase in nonstop flights to San Francisco, a useful connection for eastern Sierra residents and businesses. Inyo County lists four flights per week beginning May 21, daily flights from June 23 through September 8, and four weekly departures again after that period.
The published 2026 calendar
According to Inyo County, daily San Francisco service was scheduled June 23 through September 8. A four-day-per-week pattern then continued through December 17, with daily winter flights planned to return after that date. These dates are the county’s published schedule and should be checked against the airline’s current timetable before booking.
Why the local airport matters
Bishop Airport is just east of the city and acts as an access point for the Eastern Sierra. Residents may use it for connections beyond the region, while visitors heading to Bishop, Mammoth Lakes or nearby mountain destinations may arrive there rather than through Los Angeles or Reno. Air-service schedules can influence local accommodations, ground transportation and business travel.
Planning ground transportation
The airport’s official page lists amenities such as Wi-Fi, water access and limited charging facilities. Travelers should not assume that public transit, car rentals or other ground services will be operating at the time of every flight. Anyone with a tight itinerary should verify transportation independently.
What to watch for winter
The county notes that the full winter 2026–27 timetable is subject to later publication. That leaves an important follow-up: what days and destinations will be available during ski season, and how will delays or schedule changes be communicated? Bishop News will use the airline and airport’s official notices for updates.
