California58 is building a statewide directory of public and official live-camera sources across California. The goal is to make it easier to check roads, mountains, parks, weather and travel conditions without searching dozens of separate systems.
Caltrans traffic and highway cameras statewide
Caltrans QuickMap is the most important statewide camera source for California roads. Its camera layer includes still images and, at some locations, live video streams, alongside traffic speeds, CHP incidents, lane and full closures, chain controls and highway information. Camera availability varies by equipment and location.
Yosemite National Park webcams
The National Park Service maintains a Yosemite webcam directory with views that can include Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, the High Sierra, El Capitan, seasonal Tuolumne Meadows, air-quality views and other locations. Individual cameras can be seasonal or temporarily unavailable.
Lassen Volcanic National Park
The National Park Service provides an official webcam at the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center. The park also publishes status information for other camera locations so users can see when a feed is offline.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon current-condition cameras
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks publish current-condition information that includes access to park webcam views such as Giant Forest. Camera imagery should always be treated as one condition indicator, not a substitute for current road, weather or emergency alerts.

How California58 will organize the camera network
The directory is being structured by region, county and camera type: highways, mountains and snow, national parks, beaches and coast, airports and other public views. California58 will link or embed only sources that are public and permitted for that use. Some webcam providers require separate permission before their images can be republished or embedded, so California58 will respect source terms rather than copying feeds without authorization.
Use cameras with official alerts
A camera can show visibility or traffic at one point in time, but it does not replace evacuation orders, chain requirements, closure notices or emergency instructions. Pair camera views with California58 road conditions, weather alerts and emergency information.
