REEDLEY NEWS | ORIGINAL LOCAL NEWS · OCTOBER 2026
State Center Community College District filed an August 11, 2026 environmental notice for renovations to Reedley College’s Vocational Technology Complex. The modernization project focuses on three existing buildings used for aeronautics, mechanical arts and automotive instruction.
What the official documents say
The district identifies Building 29 for aeronautics, Building 30 for mechanical arts and Building 31 for automotive programs. Together, approximately 46,383 assignable square feet would be modernized, according to the CEQA filing. Improvements are confined to existing buildings and immediately adjacent developed areas, with upgrades intended to support current and future teaching rather than expand the campus footprint.
Why residents should follow it
Career and technical education can connect local students with regional employers and hands-on trades. But an environmental exemption documenting proposed interior improvements does not identify new degree programs, guarantee future enrollment capacity or establish that classes have moved into renovated spaces. Actual scheduling and classroom availability must come from Reedley College.
Next steps for the community
Reedley News will seek construction phases, facility access notices, the final budget and program announcements. Students and staff should use official college communications for schedule changes during work.
