ETNA, Siskiyou County — October 15, 2026. Etna residents have an important local decision on November 3: the city’s official election notice calls for four City Council seats to be filled, including one shorter term. These are municipal offices for voters in the City of Etna, not countywide contests.
Which City Council seats are being elected?
According to the City of Etna’s official Notice of Municipal Election, the November 3 ballot includes three council positions for four-year terms ending in 2030 and one position for a two-year term ending in 2028. The notice was dated July 30, 2026, and signed by Siskiyou County Clerk Laura Bynum.
Four seats with different term lengths matter because a voter needs to distinguish the regular four-year positions from the separate two-year vacancy. The final official sample ballot determines the precise candidate lists and office labels.
Who are the candidates?
The municipal election notice announces the offices and nomination period, but does not itself certify the final list of candidates. California58 will not infer candidates from current officeholders. Residents should request the certified candidate list and sample ballot from the Siskiyou County Elections Office or contact the Etna City Clerk before voting.
Etna’s published nomination notice identified City Hall at 442 Main Street as the place to obtain nomination paperwork and the county clerk’s office in Yreka as the filing authority. Those were nomination-period arrangements, not a claim that City Hall is necessarily an Election Day polling location.
When can residents vote?
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and the city notice specifies polling hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. California’s ordinary online voter-registration deadline is October 19; eligible residents who miss it may be able to use conditional registration at an authorized location. Find official instructions at California Online Voter Registration and Same Day Voter Registration.
What other elections affect Etna?
Etna voters also participate in California’s statewide general election. Federal, state legislative, county, school and special-district contests vary by residential address. Read the Siskiyou County 2026 election guide, but consult your county-issued sample ballot for the final list of races.
