MIDDLETOWN, Lake County — A branch library on Washington Street helps Middletown residents reach books and other resources held well beyond southern Lake County. According to the county’s official facilities page, the Middletown Library is at 21256 Washington Street and operates Tuesday through Saturday.
Schedule and contact information
Lake County’s library facilities directory lists regular public hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, with Monday and Sunday closures. The branch can be reached at 707-987-3674. County holidays may change the schedule.
A regional sharing network
The county says the roughly 5,500-square-foot branch has more than 20,000 books, DVDs, audiobooks and other materials. Through the Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma library systems, patrons can request materials unavailable locally for delivery to the branch at no charge. Availability and card requirements should be confirmed with library staff.
Why rural branches matter
Middletown lies far from the larger libraries of the North Bay. A local pickup option may reduce unnecessary travel for readers, students and residents researching government services. The building opened in 2013 according to the county’s overview, so it is also a relatively modern community facility.
Residents seeking programs, computer access, accessibility accommodations or specific services should ask library staff directly; the basic facilities page does not guarantee that every program or device is available every day.
