SIERRAVILLE, Sierra County — A school campus in Sierraville is serving two distinct community functions in October: a relocated ballot drop-off point for the November general election and a scheduled stop by a county public health outreach van.
New ballot drop-box location
A Sierra County elections notice says the ballot box formerly at Loyalton City Hall Auditorium is now at Sierraville School, 305 South Lincoln Street. The county states it is available October 5 through November 3, Election Day. Voters should confirm the official entry point and Election Day cutoff.
Health outreach on October 20
Sierra County’s October calendar lists the Sierraville Public Health Van with Immunization for Tuesday, October 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Sierraville School parking lot. The county describes its mobile outreach program as offering immunizations and other prevention and health-information services; individual services and fees should be checked with the health department.
Why these two notices are worth checking
Residents of Sierra Valley often travel between small towns to reach government services. A changed ballot-box site or a two-hour outreach window can affect families who must plan transportation around work, school or rural road conditions.
The school address appears in both announcements, but these are separate programs run through different county departments. The health outreach event should not be interpreted as an election service or vice versa. For exact details, consult the county, not an unverified event flyer.
