WEST LINDA, Calif. — Yuba County is developing a proposal for a Community Resilience Center in West Linda, intended to help residents during emergencies and provide services in ordinary times. County officials emphasize that the project is still in the planning and grant application stage.

What is proposed

The county Office of Emergency Services project page identifies a vacant parcel northeast of Alicia Avenue and southeast of the Cedar Lane/Alicia Avenue intersection as the proposed site. The county is working on an application to the California Strategic Growth Council’s Community Resilience Centers Program.

The concept could support people during extreme heat, poor air quality, outages, wildfire and other emergencies, while also accommodating useful community activities year-round. The county has not said that funding has been awarded or that construction is approved.

How residents can participate

Yuba County is asking people who live, work, go to school or receive services in the West Linda area to share priorities and concerns. Questions include which services are needed, accessibility barriers and what would make the future center useful and welcoming. The official page links to a survey and says feedback will inform the grant proposal and planning.

Residents should treat project renderings and descriptions as proposals until funding and approvals are confirmed.
