WEST LINDA, Calif. — Friendship Park at 5660 Alicia Avenue is the focus of a major improvement project that Yuba County says will make better use of the large public property and expand welcoming community space.

What the county is building toward

According to the Public Works project page, the park encompasses about 22.5 acres, but many existing facilities are concentrated in only one part of the site. The county describes a $5.8 million beautification and improvement effort supported by grants and local funding, including Urban Greening and Clean California grant programs.

The public project page identifies the effort as under construction. That status does not mean every planned feature is already available to use. Residents should follow posted fencing, trail limitations and construction safety instructions.

How the community is involved

The county has also held a student art competition connected to the park improvements, asking young artists from Linda and Olivehurst to imagine a cleaner and more welcoming public space. The separate contest page describes plans to display winning artwork and mentions a future park ribbon-cutting in summer 2027. That season is a planning target and not a verified final completion date.
