Del Norte County Halloween 2026: Boo on the Coast in Crescent City and Family Redwood Outings

Del Norte County has one major confirmed all-ages Halloween carnival in Crescent City for October 2026. Rather than claiming a dozen unverified costume festivals, this guide pairs that event with honest, non-Halloween family nature outings near the redwoods and coast.

Updated October 11, 2026. Confirm tickets, timing, parking and weather with event hosts. Some activities are fall outings rather than confirmed Halloween celebrations.

3 Halloween 2026 and seasonal outings in Del Norte County

1. Boo on the Coast — Free Halloween Carnival

Location: Del Norte Recreation Building, 1005 H Street, Crescent City
Dates: October 24, 2026
Time: Noon–7 p.m.

Free family Halloween carnival featuring costumes, games, face painting, food, live music, vendors and candy. Confirm parking and activity availability with the event organizer. View organizer or official listing.

2. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park — nature outing

Location: Near Crescent City
Dates: Any suitable October daytime
Time: Park access depends on conditions

A towering-redwood walk makes a separate family activity; it is not a Halloween festival. Trails can be slippery after North Coast rain. View organizer or official listing.

3. Crescent Beach — autumn shoreline

Location: Crescent City
Dates: Fair-weather October afternoon
Time: Daylight recommended

A coastal walk after the city carnival is possible, but sneaker waves and cold ocean water are serious hazards. This is not a scheduled Halloween event. View organizer or official listing.

Family itinerary

For Halloween-specific fun, choose October 24 Boo on the Coast. Ocean and forest outings can be paired only when weather permits. Expect cool temperatures and rain; bring jackets and avoid unsafe surf.

Safety and accessibility

Do not assume a scheduled event is free unless the source states it. Verify age guidance for scary attractions and reservation requirements for trains or ticketed experiences. Wear warm clothes on mountain and coastal outings, and use marked crossings during downtown candy walks.
