Sierra County Halloween 2026: Loyalton Pumpkin Carving and Downieville History Tour

Sierra County is one of California’s least densely populated mountain counties, and its official chamber calendar lists two real October 2026 themed events: a pumpkin-carving festival in Loyalton and a Halloween history tour in Downieville.

Updated October 11, 2026. Confirm organizer announcements for last-minute changes and do not confuse seasonal fall visits with guaranteed Halloween-night festivities.

Travel and safety tips

Loyalton and Downieville are in different mountain valleys and should not be treated as nearby downtowns. Respect the weather and remote roads, and verify the chamber’s final event schedule before traveling.

Verify event dates, entry fees, parking and age restrictions. For remote counties, also check weather, road closures and fuel availability before departure. Do not rely on previous years’ schedules as proof of a 2026 event.
