The Lassen County October 2026 calendar has community fall programs, but limited confirmation of large public Halloween parades. The Ghosting fundraiser runs through October and an early-October pumpkin farm harvest event has already passed. Here we separate actual announced activities from general sightseeing.

Editorial transparency, October 11, 2026: Not every mountain county has multiple verified holiday events. Dates are identified as confirmed, tentative, past or general fall outings to prevent misleading travel recommendations.

4 family Halloween and fall options in Lassen County

1. Lassen Family Services Ghosting Fundraiser

Where: Homes and businesses in Susanville area by arrangement
Dates: October 1–31, 2026
Time: By scheduled request

For a $20 donation, organizers place a group of playful ghost decorations outside a nominated home or business for 24 hours. This is a Halloween-themed fundraiser, not a public haunted-house attraction. Official or local source.

2. Harvest Hootenanny at Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch — past event

Where: Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch, Wemple Lane, Milford
Dates: October 3, 2026
Time: 2–8 p.m.

A free local food and harvest gathering with children’s activities, farms tours and a market. This event has already concluded for 2026. Official or local source.

3. Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch — seasonal farm inquiry

Where: Milford
Dates: Check October 2026 operating schedule
Time: Contact farm for hours

The site hosted the 2026 Harvest Hootenanny. This listing does not establish whether its pumpkin patch remains open daily or on Halloween night; contact operators first. Official or local source.

4. Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail — fall outing

Where: Near Susanville
Dates: Daylight October outing
Time: No scheduled event

A family nature trip on the former railroad route; check U.S. Forest Service trail status and weather. Not a Halloween festival. Official or local source.

How to make a reliable family plan

For a spooky seasonal contribution, the ghost-display fundraiser provides a verified October-long option. There is no confirmed large municipal October 31 candy parade in the sources used for this article; local schools and community groups may announce small events separately. In the high desert, nights can be cold.

Travel checklist

  • Do not travel solely because a previous year’s Halloween page exists. Ask the host to confirm the 2026 program.
  • Check hours, admission and parking; ask whether costumes and young children are welcome.
  • In rural and mountain locations, check Caltrans road conditions, snow, wind and wildfire advisories.
  • For fall outings without a specific Halloween program, dress for the weather and respect local access rules.
