ORANGE COUNTY, California — Preliminary election-night returns showed differing outcomes taking shape across the county’s local ballot measures: support led on Irvine’s ranked-choice proposal, while opposition led on Newport Beach’s General Plan amendment and San Clemente’s natural-hazards tax initiative.
The Orange County Registrar of Voters’ dashboard was marked updated at 11:00 p.m. Pacific on November 3, 2026. These are unofficial counts, not declarations that measures passed or failed.
Two school-district bond questions
In Laguna Beach Unified School District, Measure A had 6,360 votes in favor (67.88%) and 3,010 against (32.12%). The registrar identifies it as a school-facility bond measure.
In Westminster School District, Measure B had 10,808 votes in favor (67.49%) and 5,206 against (32.51%). The official designation describes classroom repair, school safety and security, and education improvements.
These are school-district electorates. Their boundaries should not be assumed to match city boundaries, and their totals should not be read as a vote of all Orange County residents.

Jurisdiction matters
The registrar administers these local elections, but that does not make every listed measure countywide. City questions are decided by the relevant city electorate, school measures by their district electorate, and statewide propositions by voters throughout California.
Further counting and canvassing can change these figures. This overview does not determine legal passage thresholds or certify an outcome.
