MARIN COUNTY, California — November 5, 2026. Municipal measures relating to essential services drew substantial attention across Marin County on November 3. The county’s early election-night returns show Yes majorities above two-thirds in six local jurisdictions on Measures Q, R, S, T, U and V. These measures are not one countywide proposition and the tax structures and purposes are not all identical. They must be assessed against each ballot’s own legal language and required threshold.

Six town-level measures: exact election-night figures

The table reproduces the county’s reported totals, carried by KQED and Marin County election reporting, as of approximately 1:05 a.m. November 4. Every item is unofficial.

Ross Valley Paramedic Authority is a shared service, not a single ballot

Several of these questions are tax renewals involving the Ross Valley Paramedic Authority and local emergency-medical services. Bay City News Service explains that authority serves approximately 53,000 people across 20 square miles. The participating communities adopt related taxes through separate elections, with dollar rates and potential annual increases that can differ by jurisdiction. Residents should refer to the official county ballot-measure index before interpreting every service-related measure as identical.

Measure P: countywide childcare funding has a different threshold

Marin County’s Measure P, the childcare initiative, has 33,481 Yes and 29,151 No votes in the overnight report, about 53.5% Yes (some media rounding displays 53.4%). The county’s official Measure P description specifies a simple-majority threshold, unlike the two-thirds standard on many special local service taxes. Measure P proposes a tax of five cents per building square foot to raise about $12.5 million annually for 15 years to support affordable childcare and early education. Different city election results

Voters also selected council representatives in Corte Madera, Larkspur, Mill Valley and other municipalities. Local tax votes are unrelated to how many seats are open on a town council and should never be portrayed as votes for an individual candidate.

What the next release will show

Marin has scheduled an updated canvass report by 5 p.m. Thursday, November 5, with more updates through late November. Overnight turnout and vote shares may change after processing of valid additional ballots. The statewide deadline for counties to complete their official results is December 3, and the California Secretary of State’s certification follows on December 11. No item in this article is an official certified result.
