CALIFORNIA58 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS — NOVEMBER 6, 2026. In the published election returns for Tehama County, the No side leads on Tehama County Measure E, a county charter amendment changing how Board of Supervisors salaries would be set. The recorded tally is 3,657 Yes votes (30.54%) and 8,317 No (69.46%), a difference of 4,660 votes. These figures are reproduced from the currently available local-measure tally, checked November 6; they have not been independently verified as a newer November 6 canvass release.
What the proposal means
The proposal would have set each county supervisor’s annual salary at California’s state minimum wage multiplied by 2,080 hours. Under the 2026 minimum-wage figure specified in the ballot analysis, that would produce an annual salary of approximately $35,152, compared with the existing $12,540. The calculation could change when the minimum wage changes. A Yes vote supports the salary formula; a No vote retains the existing system. This countywide measure does not determine the salaries of Red Bluff or Corning city council members.
How voters should interpret the count
The reported 11,974 valid Yes/No selections cover this specific ballot question, not the total number of residents registered throughout Tehama County or neighboring areas. Voters may skip individual questions, and school district boundaries often do not follow city boundaries. The current numerical leader does not establish that all eligible mail and provisional ballots have been counted or that a measure has been legally implemented.
Related local elections
Voters considered additional local measures at the same election, including Red Bluff’s clerk/treasurer appointment question and Los Molinos Unified’s school bond. A countywide charter vote, a city-specific change and a school district tax each involve different legal consequences and sometimes different eligible electorates.
Counting, sources and certification
The Tehama County Elections Office maintains official candidate and ballot-measure materials and links to the election-results service. The public measure results and description supply the candidate-neutral Yes/No tally and measure text used in this article; the statewide local-measure index offers comparative context. California counties continue their legal canvass before certifying results, and a precinct reporting percentage is not the same as a finished ballot count. Readers should use an election-office timestamp when comparing later reports.
Source note: Tehama County election documents and publicly posted November 2026 local-measure tallies, reviewed November 6. The date is the article’s publication date, not a claim that the county issued new figures today. No endorsement of either ballot choice.
