SAN DIEGO COUNTY — October 26, 2026. A scheduled overnight sign project will interrupt three connector movements at the State Route 905 / Interstate 5 interchange near southern San Diego on Thursday, October 29. According to Caltrans, the planned closure period is 10 p.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Friday, October 30.
The affected movements are eastbound SR-905 to southbound I-5, northbound I-5 to westbound SR-905 and westbound SR-905 to southbound I-5. These are interchange connectors, not a total closure of the regional freeway network.
Three movements, three instructions
Eastbound SR-905 motorists headed to southbound I-5 should continue toward the Beyer Boulevard exit, travel straight on Dairy Mart Road and use the I-5 entrance. Northbound I-5 motorists going toward westbound SR-905 are directed to Coronado Avenue, where they turn left and return via the southbound I-5 entrance to reach the westbound connector. Westbound SR-905 motorists bound for southbound I-5 should take the northbound I-5 movement, exit Coronado Avenue, turn left and reenter southbound I-5.
Drivers should follow posted detour signs, not a description from a different ramp, and should check active road conditions before traveling. The schedule is contingent on weather and construction conditions.
