The planned schedule is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through 5 p.m. Friday, October 30, due to construction. Caltrans does not give a specific delay estimate for this short Humboldt County segment in the current bulletin; drivers should not assume a particular wait time.

Why exact mile references are important

US-101 serves widely separated Southern Humboldt communities, and traffic restrictions near Route 271 should not be reported as a closure of all of Garberville or a problem at a particular town intersection. The named junction is the most specific location provided by the road agency.

Drivers should remain alert for traffic signals, flaggers or signs controlling a single shared lane. Truck operators and residents making long-distance trips should check the current state road-information service for updated restrictions and unexpected closures.
