EL DORADO COUNTY — October 26, 2026. El Dorado County is looking for one new volunteer member of its Community Action Council who can represent the concerns of residents and families living on low incomes. The county’s Health and Human Services Agency issued the recruitment notice October 14 and published it October 15.

What the council works on

The Community Action Council advises the County Board of Supervisors and the Health and Human Services Agency. The county says its purpose includes collaboration among government, nonprofit organizations and residents on affordable housing, food access and other low-income assistance needs.

This specific vacancy is meant for someone who lives in El Dorado County and can speak to the interests of people facing economic barriers. The role is explicitly voluntary and unpaid; this is not a job advertisement or offer of government employment.

Meeting commitment and application

The council meets in Placerville during nine months of the year. Prospective candidates should review participation requirements, accessibility arrangements and attendance expectations before applying. The county’s notice does not specify a final deadline, so a deadline should not be invented.

To request an application, visit the county’s Community Action Council information page, email CAC@edcgov.us, or call 530-621-6150. This countywide civic opportunity may be especially relevant to residents of smaller mountain and unincorporated communities who are often underrepresented in public meetings.
