SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — October 26, 2026. The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is accepting applications from community-based organizations to become paid partners as it develops Connect SoCal 2050, the regional long-range transportation and sustainable communities strategy.
Who qualifies?
SCAG plans to select up to 20 organizations. Applicants must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a valid employer identification number, or work with a qualifying fiscal sponsor, and serve communities in at least one of six counties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino or Ventura.
Organizations selected will be paid for work actually completed under their partnerships, including engagement with residents and gathering community input on the region’s future transportation, housing, environmental and economic needs. It is not a direct grant automatically paid to every applicant, and the public release does not give one universal contract amount.
Deadlines and assistance
Applications are due December 18, 2026. The organizer says the online application usually takes 10–30 minutes. An informational webinar will take place Monday, November 16 from 11 a.m. to noon, with a recording planned for those unable to attend.
Questions can be sent to Brisa Aviles at Kearns & West. Check the official program site for links and full requirements, especially if an organization works in rural Imperial or San Bernardino County.
