CALIFORNIA — October 27, 2026. CalRecycle’s Increased Recycling of Empty Glass Beverage Containers Grant Program Cycle 3 offers $14,198,550 statewide for projects that collect empty glass beverage containers at restaurants and other qualifying on-sale licensed establishments. The application deadline is October 29, 2026.

Program details and local relevance

Eligible applicants include specified certified recycling and collection programs, local governments, qualified nonprofits, businesses and tribal entities. A project must organize a regional pilot with glass-collection bins at five or more eligible licensed establishments, consolidated collection and transport to a glass-processing facility. Individual grant requests can range from $250,000 to $4 million.

Eligibility and cautions

The October 29 deadline is for eligible organizations, not households returning beverage containers for CRV refunds. The state says later authorization and procurement documents may be due December 1. This article is not proof of any award; applicants must use CalRecycle’s Grants Management System and check requirements.
