MONTEREY COUNTY — October 30, 2026. Families at Monterey Peninsula Unified School District schools have until Friday, October 30, to share their experiences in the district’s annual YouthTruth Family Survey. The school district says the anonymous questionnaire takes approximately 10–15 minutes and covers school culture, safety, communications and learning conditions. It is intended for parents and guardians of students attending MPUSD schools.

Where can families complete the survey?

The district and its schools direct families to www.ytsurvey.org/mpusdfamily26. A school district announcement sets the survey window as September 28 through October 30, 2026. Parents can also find a link in communications distributed through ParentSquare.

MPUSD’s official September 23 announcement says students, staff and families are each given questionnaires appropriate to their roles. Parents should use the family link rather than a staff or student form.

What languages are available?

District school communications identify English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese and French as available languages. English and Spanish also include text-to-speech support, according to Marina Vista Elementary’s survey instructions. Families can complete the questionnaire on an internet-connected device.

Will individual answers be identified?

The district describes the survey as anonymous. YouthTruth combines family feedback into reports for school leaders, instead of attributing individual answers to parents by name. The Dual Language Academy’s instructions ask one adult family member to respond for each student. Parents who have children at more than one school should follow each school’s instructions.

On October 27, a district school newsletter urged families to take part, warning that some campuses might not receive school-specific family feedback reports if too few responses are submitted. This is a reason to participate, but the announcement does not establish that all schools have missed a required response threshold.

What happens after the survey?

MPUSD says the feedback helps it identify strengths and areas for improvement. Topics include school safety, classroom and school climate, communication and connections between families and their campuses. Publication of an overall report or a specific policy change is not guaranteed solely by completing the form.

The deadline applies across multiple cities served by MPUSD, including Monterey, Seaside, Marina, Del Rey Oaks and Sand City. California58 is publishing this as a districtwide education update rather than repeating the same announcement as separate articles in every neighborhood edition.
