CALIFORNIA — October 27, 2026. California’s Tire-Derived Aggregate Grant Program Cycle 30 is accepting applications through January 13, 2027, for eligible public agencies, schools, companies, nonprofits and tribal entities using shredded waste tires in engineering applications.
Program details and local relevance
CalRecycle lists a maximum of $375,000 per award. Eligible uses can include lightweight embankment fill, landslide and slope stabilization, retaining-wall applications, stormwater drainage, vibration mitigation beneath rail lines, and certain landfill drainage systems. Reimbursement categories cover approved tire-derived aggregate materials, transport, placement, design and specified geosynthetics.
Eligibility and cautions
The grant is not a free tire disposal service for households or a subsidy for unrelated road projects. The agency excludes certain projects already underway or recently completed at the same facility. Applicants must read technical material specifications and current grant conditions before estimating costs.
