Who can have a California58 page?

We welcome applications from local businesses, shops, restaurants, professionals, startups, nonprofit organizations, charities, neighborhood associations, volunteer groups, clubs, arts and cultural projects, event organizers, and individual California residents with a legitimate community-focused project. You do not need to run a registered company to enquire. Applications and submitted claims are reviewed before publication.

Choose your publishing format

A dedicated page

One professional public page featuring your name, logo or photographs, introduction, mission, services or activities, location or service area, and ways to contact you. Useful for a neighborhood group, a small business or a volunteer project.

Best for: Getting found and having one shareable link.

A small mini website

A branded multi-section site with pages or areas for About, Services, Programs, Events, Updates, Projects, Gallery, Donations or Support, and Contact, selected to fit your organization. Structure and editing arrangements are agreed before setup.

Best for: Organizations that need more than a basic listing.

Your own memorable web address

Every approved project receives an agreed public link identifying its organization or project. A straightforward address may look like california58.com/your-organization/ (illustrative example only). You may also ask about a branded subdomain, such as yourorganization.california58.com. Names, availability, structure and any technical requirements must be confirmed individually. Subdomains and self-service website management are not automatically assigned, and a requested address is not reserved until approved.

Your page can link to your official website, social media, online shop, registration form, or external donation service. It can also link readers to the relevant California58 local newspaper or county coverage without being represented as a California58 newsroom.

Make it useful to your community

  • Tell your story in your own organization or project name.
  • Present services, public hours, events and contact information clearly.
  • Show photographs or a logo that you have permission to publish.
  • Share verified nonprofit programs, volunteering opportunities, campaigns or community announcements.
  • Link to an external membership, payment, registration or donations page when appropriate.
  • Request additional sections or updates as the project grows.

How to request a page

  1. Introduce yourself: Tell us the organization, project or public display name; California city or county; and whether you represent a business, nonprofit, group or individual initiative.
  2. Describe what you want: One page or a mini website, your preferred web address, proposed sections, existing website or social links, and who will supply the text and approved photos.
  3. Receive a review and proposal: California58 will check identity, name availability, content suitability, technical requirements, publishing options, update process and any applicable costs before work is agreed or a page is published.

Email: california58com@gmail.com

Please use the subject My California58 Page and include your preferred public name, city or county, a contact email and a brief description. Do not email passwords, Social Security numbers, payment-card data or sensitive documents.

How is this different from a business directory profile or a news article?

A business directory profile is a reviewed listing. A dedicated page or mini website provides a larger, more individualized public presence. Both are different from independent journalism. Organization-supplied information and paid or sponsored material will be clearly identified; buying or requesting a page does not buy news coverage, endorsement, influence over our reporting, or preferential placement in search results.

Is it free?

Availability, pricing and any support for small community or nonprofit projects are discussed individually. We will describe the scope, any fees, publication responsibilities and update arrangements in writing before you commit. Do not assume that a hosted mini website, custom subdomain, donation processing or ongoing maintenance is included without an explicit agreement.

Publishing and privacy standards

Applicants must have permission to use the submitted organization name, logos, photos, text and other materials. We may request verification of a business, charitable status or authority to speak for a group; a California58 page itself does not certify an organization or imply government or nonprofit accreditation. We review submissions for accuracy, lawful content, safety, accessibility and misleading claims. Private home addresses and personal contact information are optional and should not be published without consent. Page updates and moderation procedures are confirmed with each approved applicant.
