DIXON NEWS | ROADS & TRANSPORTATION | 2026 — Dixon, Solano County, California.

Highway 113 near Dixon saw a series of scheduled nighttime pavement operations during September 2026, including traffic control and temporary restrictions at the Pedrick Road connections with Interstate 80. Caltrans announced the work in September as part of a pavement rehabilitation project, with road markings among the tasks scheduled late in the month.

The construction area

According to Caltrans District 4, work on State Route 113 extended from East Parkway Boulevard toward the State Route 12 intersection, with crews then moving to Pedrick Road. An earlier September announcement covered grinding the existing asphalt surface and replacing it with new material. Residents traveling through the corridor were advised to expect noise, vibrations and delays during evening operations.

What the September 22 update changed

The agency’s updated schedule listed nightly one-way traffic control beginning Monday, September 28 at 7 p.m. and continuing through Thursday, October 1, with work running until approximately 6 a.m. each following morning. Crews were scheduled to stripe the corridor and work at Pedrick Road, affecting ramps connecting to I-80.

How the ramps were to be handled

Caltrans published alternate routes for motorists using eastbound and westbound I-80 ramps at Pedrick Road, including connections through Curry Road, Sievers Road, Sparling Lane and Kidwell Road. Those diversions applied to the scheduled September work window. They should not be followed as though still active in mid-October without a current closure notice.

Why this matters for Dixon

Highway 113 is a regional route connecting Dixon-area businesses, farms and residents with larger highways. Night work may reduce interference with daytime commerce but creates different challenges for commuters, freight drivers and nearby households. Pavement preservation and visible lane markings can improve travel conditions, although the specific durability and final project results require later maintenance evaluations.

Looking beyond the announced window

Caltrans explicitly made the schedule weather dependent. An advertised October 1 completion target is not, by itself, a certification that all work is finished. Residents should check updated QuickMap information for current lane restrictions or ask District 4 about project closeout documents. Dixon News will not recycle old detours as live traffic warnings.
