ALTURAS, Calif. — Modoc County residents can now review the county’s adopted fiscal year 2026–27 budget online through a new public portal, following action by the Board of Supervisors.

What the county announced

In an October 2, 2026 news release, the county said it had adopted the annual budget and introduced a public-facing Euna budgeting system. The portal is intended to make budget documents easier to locate and help residents understand how funding supports departments and services.

Public access to an adopted budget book allows people to examine priorities for law enforcement, roads, libraries, health and other county operations. A budget, however, is a financial plan: it does not mean that every proposed project has already been completed or that the county has spent all authorized funds.

How to review the documents

The county announcement contains links to the adopted budget book and its budget portal. Residents can begin with the official release and follow the county links rather than an unofficial copy that might omit changes.

The county said it plans to refine the system for departmental planning and midyear reviews. Readers who want to question a line item can consult the relevant board agenda and contact officials using the public channels listed on the county website.
