MONO COUNTY — October 26, 2026. Motorists traveling north from Lee Vining along the eastern side of Mono Lake should prepare for one-way traffic control this week near Mono City. Caltrans District 9 lists utility pole replacement on US-395 between Picnic Grounds Road and Lundy Lake Road from Monday, October 26, through Friday, October 30.

Work is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The agency estimates delays of about five minutes while flaggers alternate traffic. The advisory does not describe a prolonged full road closure or say that access to the entire Mono Lake basin will be blocked.

Other highway work is underway around Lee Vining and Conway Summit. A visitor entering the scenic Mono Lake corridor should check the exact section of road affected: this utility job lies near Mono City, rather than inside Lee Vining itself or on the summit farther north. Conditions may change with weather or equipment availability.
