CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL ELECTIONS DESK — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. The Alameda County results from November 4 show Benny Lee 2,293 to Fred Simon 1,875 in Oro Loma Sanitary District Director District 3, and Rita Duncan 3,201 to Koroush Farsaei 691 in District 5. These numbers are unofficial, not certified election results.
What the election results show
District 3 has a 418-vote Lee lead. District 5 has a 2,510-vote Duncan lead. These are two separate geographic trustee elections, not one board election in which every voter chooses among all four names. The source’s November 4 reporting cutoff should be preserved when comparing later totals.
Why this local vote matters
Sanitary districts oversee wastewater collection, financial planning, maintenance and other local infrastructure obligations. They are independent public agencies, and their election boundaries do not necessarily follow city council boundaries in the East Bay. An early lead is not county certification.
How to read the reported count
Election-night returns and post-Election Day updates record only eligible ballots processed by each publication’s reporting cutoff. A countywide ballot backlog does not tell a reader how many votes remain in this specific jurisdiction. Provisional ballots, conditional registrations, valid late-arriving mail ballots, signature checks and auditing may affect the totals. Reporting 100% of polling-place precincts is not the same thing as completing the election canvass.
Related local coverage
California58 has additional reporting on elections in the surrounding area. Those articles cover distinct offices or questions; voters should not combine their numbers or infer that a special district shares a municipal boundary. The dated election results source provides the figures discussed here and should be consulted for subsequent updates.
What happens next?
County election officials continue processing legally eligible votes and reconciling results. Counties are required to finish their official canvass by December 3, 2026, and California’s Secretary of State is scheduled to certify statewide results on December 11. Where an election involves more than one jurisdiction, its final legal result must reflect all participating portions rather than a single city’s figures. This report makes no prediction about remaining ballots.
