SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY — November 4, 2026, updated morning report. Measure I, the proposed extension of the county’s existing half-cent transportation sales tax, has 68.90% Yes in the final unofficial election-night results. The election office is still conducting the post-election canvass.

Updated countywide figures

The county Summary Report #5 shows 239,266 Yes votes and 108,016 No votes out of 347,282 reported votes on the measure. The earlier 2 a.m. report listed 68.78% Yes; that is now superseded. The Yes figure is above the measure’s stated two-thirds threshold, but legal approval requires the official final tally.

What voters considered

The measure would continue the existing transportation sales tax, rather than increase the rate, to fund transportation purposes including roads, bridges, freeway improvements and other covered projects. The measure covers the county’s participating voter jurisdiction, including cities and unincorporated communities. It is not a separate Trona, Needles or Victorville-only result.

Reporting and next update

All 2,066 precincts have reported their night-of-election ballots. The county plans another update by November 5 at 6 p.m.; valid ballots may continue to be included. Any claims about a particular road project receiving funds would require checking the actual expenditure plan rather than relying solely on the Yes percentage.
