SACRAMENTO COUNTY, California — November 4, 2026. The contest for San Juan Unified School District Trustee Area 3 remains close in Sacramento County’s semi-final election-night results. Roxanne Stellmacher leads Morri Elliott by 219 votes in the reported count.

Area 3 candidate totals

The Registrar of Voters’ semi-final election report, updated 1:25:40 a.m. Pacific on November 4, gives Roxanne Stellmacher 5,121 votes (51.09%) and Morri Elliott 4,902 (48.91%), plus one write-in selection. The report shows 10,023 counted votes on the candidate selections in this race.

In the trustee-area voting jurisdiction, 12,508 ballots were reported among 33,484 registered voters, a preliminary participation figure of 37.36%. The difference between ballots cast and votes for these candidates may include undervotes; it is not evidence of missing ballots.

Separate from other school board areas

The same school district has a separate election in Trustee Area 7, where Manuel Perez leads Murad “Moe” Sarama. A voter in Area 3 is choosing an Area 3 representative; the results are not a districtwide at-large vote.

When the margin could change

All election-night numbers are unofficial while vote-by-mail and other valid ballots are processed. Sacramento County’s next interim update is scheduled for November 6 by 4:15 p.m. Pacific. Readers should not equate a narrow early lead with official certification.
