MERCED COUNTY, Calif. — Residents looking for information on stress, grief, parenting and other well-being issues have a free online resource promoted by Merced County’s public health and behavioral health agencies.

What the county offers

The Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Department says its partnership with CredibleMind provides access to an online platform around the clock. It covers more than 100 subjects, from coping with anxiety and relationship concerns to aging, mindfulness, parenting, substance use and responses to medical diagnoses.

The county describes the platform as confidential and says it allows users to access resources and track their own improvement through assessments. The online site can be reached from county government pages or via Merced County CredibleMind.

Self-help is not emergency treatment

Educational articles and online assessments can help people explore topics, but they are not a diagnosis or a substitute for care from a qualified professional. The county’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Services office provides additional information about services, including prevention and crisis services. The public department’s contact number is 209-381-6800, with a toll-free line at 888-334-0163.

Anyone in an immediate medical emergency should call 911. The national 988 Lifeline is available by phone or text for people in a mental-health or emotional crisis.
