CEDARVILLE, Calif. — Modoc County’s Road Department warned travelers of paving work in multiple Cedarville locations in September 2026 and advised caution around crews and the possibility of temporary delays.

What the September notice says

In a September 8 posting, the county said paving would begin during the week of September 14. The notice did not guarantee an all-day closure of every street in town. It directed people with questions to the Road Department at 530-233-6412.

By October 31, the work window referenced in the original notice was in the past. That makes it especially important not to recirculate the September advisory as proof that roadwork is ongoing today. County roads can have other maintenance and emergency changes after an earlier project.

Where to get a newer update

The Modoc County Alert Center provides official road-condition notices and a way to subscribe to updates. Residents and visitors can check there or call the Road Department for the affected road before making a long drive. For state routes, use Caltrans QuickMap.

Drivers should slow near active crews and obey signs even if an older online notice no longer reflects conditions.
