Amador County Halloween 2026: 4 Family-Friendly Fall Events in Sutter Creek and Gold Country

The Halloween season in Amador County is centered on the historic streets of Sutter Creek. The free Witches Walk is the clearest confirmed family event, while scarecrows and a classic car show offer a different kind of fall afternoon. Be careful not to mistake the separate adults-only pub crawl for the free all-ages festivities.

How to plan the day

For families looking specifically for Halloween costumes, the Witches Walk is the best confirmed choice. The scarecrow displays can be paired with a walking tour of Sutter Creek. Some late-October evening events are hosted by wineries and are not designed for children.

Safety and tickets

Check reservations, age restrictions, weather and fees, and supervise children around roads, traffic and unfamiliar venues. A fall-themed destination is not necessarily a Halloween candy event.
