SONOMA COUNTY — November 4, 2026. Election-night results across Sonoma County showed early leads in city and town council contests, two municipal mayoral races and a countywide parks tax question. This is a county-level synthesis of separate local contests, not a new certified result.
Petaluma and Windsor mayors
Petaluma’s early mayoral count put Kevin McDonnell ahead with 6,231 votes, followed by Shelina Moreda (3,343) and John Hanania (1,041). In Windsor, Tanya Potter led Rick Massell 3,597 to 1,016. Both elections concern mayors of their respective municipalities, not elected countywide officials.
A 19-vote difference in Rohnert Park
Linda (Khoury) Tams led Paul Carey 461 to 442 votes in Rohnert Park’s District 2 council contest, with Michael Desimone also on the ballot. District 5 had a different leading candidate, Susan Hollingsworth Adams. Because the District 2 margin is exceptionally small, new county reports could change the order.
Additional city council contests
Healdsburg District 2 showed Mathew Lopez ahead of Scott Pratt and Alex Wood. Cloverdale’s three-seat election was led by Will Carter, Steve Kawa and Chris Parker. Santa Rosa District 4 was led by Melanie Jones-Carter over Terry Sanders, while Sebastopol’s three-seat council vote had Sandra Maurer, James Woodruff and Ian Hoff at the top. Sonoma City District 1 showed Julian Mackie ahead of Michael Menefee and Peggy Hutton. These are separate local electorates; vote totals must never be added as though they represented one race.
Measure H and other local tax questions
Countywide Measure H concerning a parks sales tax had approximately 76.7% yes in KQED’s reported tally, above its two-thirds passage threshold at that stage. Windsor’s Measure I and Rohnert Park’s Measure K were much closer, with early yes shares around 51% and 52%, respectively. Each measure has different jurisdictional boundaries and legal effects.
When updates arrive
Sonoma County’s Registrar of Voters told Petaluma Voice that the next post-election results release is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, followed by reports on November 9, 11 and 13. Election Night figures are unofficial and can change as eligible ballots are counted.
