SHASTA COUNTY, California — November 4, 2026. Anderson City Council member Mike Gallagher leads incumbent Shasta County Supervisor Chris Kelstrom in the November 3 contest for District 5.

What the early results show

Shasta Scout’s report, updated at approximately 5:30 a.m. November 4, puts Gallagher at about 57.72% of the reported vote with 5,277 votes cast in the contest. KQMS independently reported a roughly 58%-to-42% split.

Why this matters locally

District 5 voters are choosing a county supervisor, not an Anderson City Council member. Gallagher’s Anderson council service identifies his background; the office on this ballot is county supervisor. The county election night reporting was delayed, and additional ballots could alter the margin. Percentages in different media summaries are rounded and represent preliminary snapshots.

Counting remains unfinished

Shasta County election officials experienced delays in the release of election-night results. The figures quoted above were available in reporting updated on November 4. Further vote-by-mail, precinct and other eligible ballots may be counted before certification. A media projection or interim lead is not the county’s certified outcome.
