SHASTA COUNTY, California — November 4, 2026. Shasta County Measure F has an unofficial Yes majority on a proposal concerning vacancies in certain elected county department head offices.

What the early results show

Shasta Scout’s early-November-4 update listed support at 67.38% from approximately 28,477 reported votes on Measure F, while KQMS rounded the result to 67%. The totals are provisional.

Why this matters locally

The charter change would allow the Board of Supervisors to appoint a replacement or call a special election to fill vacancies in elected department-head positions. This is a county government staffing and succession rule, not a direct election of one specific department head. The county canvass and certification will determine the outcome.

Counting remains unfinished

Shasta County election officials experienced delays in the release of election-night results. The figures quoted above were available in reporting updated on November 4. Further vote-by-mail, precinct and other eligible ballots may be counted before certification. A media projection or interim lead is not the county’s certified outcome.
