November 6 update: Templeton tie and rural district results
The county’s November 5 report, generated at 4:55:31 p.m. Pacific, supersedes the election-night snapshot below. Its cover summary lists 72,127 ballots, including 7,628 polling-place and 64,499 mail ballots, or 39.40% of 183,042 registered voters. That is 3,606 more than the earlier 68,521-ballot report. The same PDF uses different times-cast figures in some contest sections; the cover figure should not be substituted for each contest’s denominator.
Closest local races to watch
Templeton Unified’s two-seat board contest now has Forrest Pearson and Janel Armet tied at 1,317 votes, behind Jennifer Grinager’s 1,616. San Miguel CSD’s partial-term seat has Raynette Martines at 119 to Berkley J Baker’s 115. In its separate two-seat election, John M. Butler II leads Andrew H. Havard 98 to 89 for second.
California Valley CSD has Karina Sanchez and Tammy Forrest in the top two places, while Ground Squirrel Hollow CSD has Pam Fulmer and Leann Eddy leading its separate two-seat contest. These rural districts have their own governance elections.

Earlier election-night reporting
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — November 4, 2026. San Luis Obispo County’s fourth unofficial election-night bulletin included 68,521 counted ballots, with further ballot processing required before certification.
What the early count shows
The clerk-recorder’s fourth update, posted at about 1:47 a.m. November 4, showed 68,521 ballots counted from 183,042 registered voters, or 37.43% at that snapshot. Of the ballots counted, 60,893 were vote-by-mail and 7,628 were cast at polling locations.
How to interpret the vote
The figure is a dated reporting snapshot, not the county’s final turnout. All 153 precincts were included in the overnight reporting, but the completion of precinct reporting is not the same as completion of processing mail ballots. The county’s elections calendar schedules a publicly observable 1% manual tally for November 18; certification follows later.
Next official result
This article refers to the county’s fourth unofficial election-night update, approximately 1:47 a.m. November 4. More eligible ballots remained to be counted. All outcomes and quoted totals are preliminary until the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder completes the canvass and certifies the vote.
