TRINITY COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — NOVEMBER 6, 2026. Trinity County’s official November 3 general-election report recorded 2,768 ballots out of 7,652 registered voters (36.17%). The county’s portion of the U.S. House District 2 race was unusually close: Jared Huffman 1,374 votes and Robin Littau 1,347, a 27-vote local lead for Huffman. The PDF was generated at 10:27 p.m. November 3 and is explicitly unofficial.
What 16 of 16 precincts means
The county report says all 16 reporting precincts were included. That is not confirmation that every valid mailed or provisional ballot had been processed. The 36.17% turnout reflects the report’s timing, not necessarily final county participation. The registrar’s legal canvass and validation follow election night.
A congressional district extends beyond Trinity
The 27-vote difference describes only the ballots cast within Trinity’s portion of the congressional district. It does not establish the entire District 2 outcome, because people living in other California counties also vote in the contest. Statewide and districtwide returns must be obtained from the Secretary of State or the complete multi-county tally.
Governor and other local county tallies
For governor, the same Trinity report shows Steve Hilton with 1,424 votes to Xavier Becerra’s 1,308, a 116-vote county lead. In state Senate District 2, Tief Gibbs received 1,395 and Damon Connolly 1,327, a 68-vote county difference. In Assembly District 2, Michael Greer received 1,400 and Chris Rogers 1,317. These are county portions of broader constituencies, not their certified districtwide results.
Public records and future updates
The Trinity County Elections office hosts the 15-page unofficial PDF and the local ballot measures. The district also has elections for the Weaverville Community Services District and Mountain Communities Healthcare District, which are separate local votes. The older voter guide remains at California58’s county election overview.
How the official canvass works
The Trinity County unofficial cumulative results are dated November 3, 2026, at 10:27 p.m., and list 16 of 16 precincts reporting. That is not the same as all valid mail, provisional and other ballots being processed. The county election official will complete the canvass and certify local contests; statewide election certification follows in December. The source date is stated to prevent the old batch being mistaken for a fresh November 6 count.
