SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. County supervisors have approved $250,000 for Sound of Dreams to support the All Hands on Decks Youth Music Education & Career Development Initiative. The November 3 action was included in a district-priorities funding package announced publicly November 5.

What students would learn

According to the county, the program teaches music history, operation of audio equipment, beat matching and performance skills. Its stated objective also includes introducing young people to career possibilities connected to music and live events. The county describes partnerships with local schools and municipalities, but its announcement does not list every school, enrollment date or participant age range.

How much money was approved?

The $250,000 award is one component of a $550,000 program associated with Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez. Separate allocations of $200,000 and $100,000 support cleanup work in Upland and Boys & Girls Club programs in Fontana; those should not be counted as Sound of Dreams funding.

What comes next

The allocation is a funding approval, not evidence that a class has started in every city. Parents, students and educators should look for announcements from Sound of Dreams and participating school districts about eligibility, registration and locations.
