CALIFORNIA — October 27, 2026. California’s Farm and Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant Program Cycle 93 is open for applications through January 6, 2027, to help eligible local agencies and tribes remove illegal dumping from agricultural and range land.

Program details and local relevance

CalRecycle lists $1 million available each fiscal year, with a maximum of $200,000 per eligible applicant per year and $50,000 for a single cleanup site. Applicants include California cities, counties, resource conservation districts and federally recognized tribes; eligible costs include disposal, equipment, staffing, site security and related materials. The land must meet the program’s farm/ranch designation, but it does not have to be actively selling crops today.

Eligibility and cautions

Private property owners do not automatically qualify to apply directly; they may need to work with an eligible government or conservation district. Grants are competitive and cleanup work must meet eligibility rules. The statewide deadline does not mean every local dumping complaint will receive funding.
