CALIFORNIA — The California Public Utilities Commission is scheduled to hold a public voting meeting on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. Pacific. Residents can follow the meeting online or participate by phone, with different access methods for watching and speaking.
How to watch or attend
The commission lists the in-person location as its auditorium at 505 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco. A live webcast is available through the CPUC meeting video service. The webcast is for viewing and listening; it does not let viewers submit live oral comments.
How to speak during public comment
To make an oral comment, residents may attend in person and sign up at the Public Advisor’s table or call 1-800-857-1917. The commission lists passcode 9899501# for the English line and 3799627# for the Spanish line. Phone participants should press *1 when the operator invites speakers into the queue. The agency encourages participants to join or register by 11 a.m., though the public-comment period may remain open after that time.
The CPUC says speakers generally have one minute, subject to the presiding commissioner’s discretion. People using a translator are entitled to at least twice the time allotted to English-language speakers. Public comment must concern matters within the commission’s jurisdiction; there are special restrictions for parties to proceedings and adjudicatory cases.
What will commissioners decide?
The commission votes on proposed rules, policies and other utility matters, but the fact that a meeting is scheduled does not mean any particular rate change has been approved. Readers should review the official October 29 meeting notice and its linked current agenda and hold list for specific items and last-minute changes.
For help participating, the commission lists VotingMeetingHelp@cpuc.ca.gov and (415) 703-5263. Written comments on a particular proceeding can be submitted through the commission’s online docket.
