Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration in downtown Los Angeles is closed to the public and employees on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after flooding affected multiple floors. In-person services housed in the building are unavailable during the closure.
Los Angeles County posted the notice on October 12 and directs residents to lacounty.gov/closures for department-specific alternatives. The county notice does not announce when in-person service will resume after Tuesday, so anyone with an appointment should check for an update before traveling.
What is closed — and what is not
The closure applies to Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, not every Los Angeles County office. The county’s closure page lists remote service options for the Assessor, Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, and Treasurer and Tax Collector.
How to reach affected departments
- Assessor: online services remain available at assessor.lacounty.gov.
- Consumer and Business Affairs: use dcba.lacounty.gov. Call 800-593-8222 from within Los Angeles County or 213-974-1452 from outside the county. The county also lists 800-593-8222 for rent stabilization and tenant-protection questions.
- Treasurer and Tax Collector: all in-person services are temporarily suspended. Call 213-974-2111 during business hours or submit a public inquiry online.
What residents should do
- Do not travel to Kenneth Hahn Hall unless the relevant department confirms in-person service.
- Check the county closure page for changes.
- Use the department website or phone number for urgent matters.
- Keep confirmation numbers and payment receipts for online transactions.
The closure is a localized building-service disruption. The county’s emergency page says there is currently no wider active incident, but the closure banner remains in effect for the building.
