PLUMAS COUNTY, California — November 5, 2026. Plumas voters encountered 14 California propositions on November 3. The county election office’s initial unofficial report records 3,649 Yes and 2,764 No votes on Proposition 39, while Proposition 37 was separated by only 105 votes. These numbers are Plumas County’s totals, not the statewide result on either question.

Proposition 39: identification rules

Proposition 39 would introduce government-issued identification requirements for voting under the proposed rules. Plumas counted 3,649 Yes votes and 2,764 No, an 885-vote Yes margin among 6,413 valid choices. This local majority does not mean California adopted the measure: a statewide proposition is decided by the statewide aggregate. Newsroom projections and official certification are also separate.

Proposition 37: narrow county difference

The proposed loan program for middle-income homebuyers had 3,107 Yes and 3,212 No votes in the county’s election-night file. The 105-vote No advantage is based on 6,319 valid votes in this particular contest. Different propositions can have different numbers of recorded valid selections because some voters skip questions.

Proposition 43 and local revenue rules

Proposition 43, concerning voters’ ability to raise revenue for local government services, had 3,451 Yes and 2,869 No in Plumas. The Yes margin was 582 votes. The county’s local preference can differ from that of the state as a whole, so these votes should not be presented as a county election deciding statewide law.

Other county-level returns

On Proposition 42, concerning certain state personal-property and retroactive taxation, Yes received 4,342 against No 2,077. For Proposition 44 on community-health-clinic spending, No received 5,383 against Yes 915. For Proposition 45 on environmental-review rules, Yes received 3,470 and No 2,850. Proposition 38 on immunology research bonds had 3,406 Yes and 2,915 No.

County figures are not town results

Plumas County includes Quincy, Portola, Chester, Greenville and many smaller communities. The published summary covers all 29 precincts as a countywide total; it is not a precinct-by-precinct breakdown by town. California58 will not report that residents of an individual town favored a proposition without a grounded geographic breakdown.

Follow the canvass

The county’s report was generated November 3 at 8:17:37 p.m. and is labeled unofficial. Additional eligible mail and provisional ballots could change the totals before legal certification. See the Secretary of State’s election results for statewide totals and the separate California58 countywide candidate report for turnout and legislative-race context.
