Network size: California58 currently has 667 published local newspaper editions in the full statewide directory, covering 483 incorporated-city editions and 184 additional local editions. Readership figures below are being reconciled with the complete directory: until the network reporting code includes all editions, the number of editions in this analytics table may be lower than the verified statewide total. Do not interpret the table’s listed-edition figure as the total number of published newspapers.
Readership statistics for our local newspapers
Public figures from California58's own recorded page-view counters, with a clear explanation of what they can and cannot show.
These are cumulative recorded WordPress page views, not unique readers or people reached. Counts may include repeat visits after a 30-minute exclusion window, omit some bots and do not establish a measured last-30-day audience. Figures refresh approximately every 15 minutes. Page and story totals should not be marketed as unique visitors. The two view totals represent different page types, and cannot be interpreted as distinct audiences.

How the numbers are measured
Our WordPress counters increment for eligible page loads on published content, excluding some recognizable bots and repeat requests using a 30-minute browser cookie. Visitors who decline or clear the cookie and visitors on different devices may be counted again. Some cached requests or technical visits may not be measured. Edition page views and views of articles assigned to each edition are shown separately.
These figures are not Google Analytics users, independently audited circulation, verified demographic reach, advertising impressions, newsletter subscribers or purchases. We can provide only information supported by the available records. No individual reader information is published here.
