NOVEMBER 5 — NEW LOCAL RESULTS COVERAGE. Our local editions now have detailed separate follow-ups for Stockton City Council Districts 1 and 3, Tracy mayor and the close District 1 race, Manteca Council Districts 3 and 4, Lathrop’s two-seat council contest, and San Joaquin water district elections. Each article links to the official election-night dashboard. They are updated coverage of a November 4 count, not a claim that an unverified November 5 batch has been released. The original report below remains as a historical source snapshot.
Previously published overnight results
UPDATED NOVEMBER 4, 1:11 A.M. PACIFIC. San Joaquin County’s election-night reports include an important change: in Manteca, Jacob Naven has overtaken Gary Singh for mayor with 8,560 votes (52.7%) to 7,684 (47.3%), according to The Ballot Book’s batch history. Singh led by 154 votes at 8:11 p.m. on November 3, but the later batches reversed the order. Separately, three Stockton City Council districts reported early standings. All results remain unofficial and incomplete.
Stockton: three City Council districts
Stocktonia reported that, after the county’s 12:30 a.m. update, Michele Padilla led Tamica Small 58.9% to 41.1% in District 1, while Michael Blower led Jessica Toccoli 61.3% to 38.7% in District 3. In District 5, Desiree Lynch, who had withdrawn after the candidate-removal deadline, was ahead of incumbent Brando Villapudua 53.1% to 46.9%. Allegations in a criminal case involving Lynch are not convictions and must be evaluated separately from ballot counting.
Manteca: Naven moves into the lead
The timestamped Manteca mayoral results log shows Gary Singh ahead 6,115 to 5,961 at 8:11 p.m. November 3. By 12:25 a.m. November 4, Jacob Naven had moved ahead. At 1:11 a.m., Naven had 8,560 votes and Singh 7,684, a margin of 876. These tracker batches must not be assumed to have the same reporting cutoff as Stocktonia’s separate 12:30 a.m. countywide story.
Countywide counting
Stocktonia reported 108,549 ballots counted in the county as of its 12:30 a.m. reporting, equivalent to 26.1% of registered voters at that point, not final turnout. County Registrar Olivia Hale told the newsroom a much higher final turnout was expected, and processing could continue for weeks.
When will results become official?
The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters announced a public 1% manual tally process and anticipated certified county results no earlier than the completion of that audit, expected November 25, 2026. Other legally valid ballots must be processed before final results. Readers can consult the Registrar of Voters for the latest returns. Individual local reports are available from California58’s Stockton and Manteca editions.
