YOLO COUNTY, Calif. — November 3, 2026. As voters across Yolo County finish the general election, county election officials have published an Election Night reporting schedule and details about a public manual tally that will follow the initial vote count. The schedule applies across the county, including West Sacramento, Davis, Woodland and Winters. It does not mean every city’s results will be separately reported at each update.

Three scheduled Election Night updates

The Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Elections Department expects its first unofficial results at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. A second update is expected at about 10 p.m. and a third at approximately midnight. Officials caution that the times may change according to ballot processing, and additional updates may be released after midnight.

These releases represent successive stages of counting, not three different elections. An advantage in the first report is not a certified win. The political party listed on a voter’s registration also cannot establish how that person voted.

What happens after Election Night?

The county plans to update unofficial results by 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday until certification. The November 3 election must be certified in Yolo County no later than December 3, 2026. A complete count may include valid ballots that were not part of the initial Election Night reports.

Public verification in Woodland

The department has also announced a one-percent manual tally, a check on the electronic tabulation. County officials plan to select the precincts at 3 p.m. Thursday, November 5, at the Yolo County Elections Office, 625 Court Street, Room B05, Woodland. The hand tally is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Monday, November 9. The office states that the public and press may observe.

Why this matters for West Sacramento

West Sacramento hosted an Election Night gathering for gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra. That political event is located in Yolo County, not Sacramento County, even though it is across the river from the capital. Coverage of the campaign event and coverage of Yolo County’s official vote counting are different stories and should not be conflated.
