California58 — One State. 58 Counties. Every Community Deserves a Voice. We are building an independent statewide media and public-information network for city, county, rural and unincorporated communities. Current local editions, their published work and methodology can be verified through the local newsroom directory and public statistics page. Our editions are not a representation of separately staffed physical newsrooms or independently audited reach. View the Media Kit for partnership information.
California58 welcomes partnerships that make trustworthy California information easier to find, understand and use. The strongest collaborations help close an information gap, reach an underserved community, improve a public-service tool or expand original local reporting.
Nationwide and international creative collaborations
California58 welcomes production and creative subcontracting opportunities across the United States, plus international projects that can be delivered remotely or through a lawful, confirmed on-site production plan. The Creative Agency Services overview describes video, websites, digital marketing, copywriting and multilingual content. Specialized production, conference livestreams and contracting requirements are evaluated separately.
Media production, events and community outreach collaborations
California58 can discuss photo and video documentation, interview series, event livestreams, community conversations, conference recording, public-service educational videos and historical or cultural storytelling. Paid commissioned projects have written deliverables and do not purchase favorable independent news coverage. Learn more at Media Production & Events; see the government and nonprofit capability statement for public agencies, foundations and institutional partners.
Journalism and civic-information partnerships
California58 can collaborate with local and ethnic media, independent newsrooms, journalism schools, universities, civic organizations and community groups on reporting, public records, data projects, community listening, translation, emergency information and county-level coverage.
Government and public-data collaboration
Government agencies and public institutions may share public datasets, official service information, alerts, corrections and technical documentation. California58 remains independent and clearly identifies the responsible official source rather than presenting itself as a government agency.
Technology and data partnerships
The platform is interested in responsible partnerships involving maps, public data, accessibility, multilingual technology, live information, emergency systems, transportation and tools that help users move from information to a verified official action.
Community and language access
California58 is especially interested in collaborations that improve access for rural areas, small communities, immigrant and multilingual audiences, and people who are underserved by traditional statewide information systems.
Travel, parks and place-based partnerships
Partnerships with cultural institutions, parks, tourism organizations, museums, transportation providers and destination organizations can help improve practical travel information when the public-interest value is clear and commercial relationships are transparently labeled.
For California travel writers and destination creators
Independent publishers creating California road-trip guides, county itineraries, local attraction coverage or practical visitor resources can explore Travelpayouts for travel-related affiliate programs. It is a creator monetization platform, not a service for booking a trip through California58. Review each program’s eligibility, available inventory and disclosure requirements before promoting any travel offer.

Referral disclosure: California58 may receive a reward if an eligible new partner joins through this link and completes the program’s requirements. Editorial coverage and official public-service information remain independent.
Current reporting portfolio for mission-aligned donors
California58 has published a document-based Salton Sea investigation and related local reporting connecting restoration funding, dust-health research, public access, Colorado River water policy and Lithium Valley in Imperial and Riverside Counties. Potential grant or philanthropic support could make possible additional independent interviews, source-document analysis, multilingual public-interest explainers, on-site reporting and public accountability tracking. Funding would support reporting capacity, not editorial conclusions. See Community Impact, Ownership, Corrections and audience-measurement methods.
Grant applicants and partners: Requirements differ: a particular grant may allow a for-profit newsroom, sole proprietor, freelance reporter or fiscally sponsored project; another may be limited to a registered nonprofit. California58 has not represented that it holds any nonprofit designation, award, sponsorship or fiscal sponsorship that has not actually been verified. Contact california58com@gmail.com for a proposed scope, independent editorial safeguards, supporting work samples and a project-specific budget.
Project proposal: Support Salton Sea accountability reporting — a draft 12-month grant and sponsorship prospectus. All funding, eligibility and project expenditures require separate confirmation and written agreements.
Grants and philanthropic support
California58 may work with foundations, grantmakers and philanthropic partners to support original reporting, rural and underserved-community coverage, multilingual access, accessibility, community engagement, public-data infrastructure and other public-interest work. Funding does not purchase favorable editorial coverage or control independent editorial conclusions.
Commercial partnerships
Advertising, sponsorship and affiliated commercial relationships are kept distinct from independent editorial judgment. Paid placements are labeled so users can understand when a relationship is commercial.
